Notes on AoA scroll for Cadfael ap Madoc ap Dafydd

Mid-June to 30 October A.S. 34.  My tenth scroll.

Paper: Aquarelle Arches Hot Press, 12x16, 1" margins.

Calligraphy: Irish Half-Uncial (Drogin).  3/4 mm Brause nib, 3mm minim, 3mm each above & below.  Winsor & Newton Black Indian Ink.

Paints (all are Winsor & Newton except the last): Mistletoe Green, Spectrum Red, Sky Blue, 1:1 mix of Sky Blue : Permanent White, Orange Lake Light, Primary Yellow, and Caran d'Ache Orange.  The W&N Orange Lake Light was used in the bottom row, the Caran d'Ache Orange elsewhere.

Knotwork by method of Meehan.  Other designs adapted from Meehan's books.  The chevrons are probably pre-Celtic, but I used them because they were striking...and easy.

Text was transcribed from the ad-lib by the herald who announced the award in Court.

Lord Cadfael's arms have not passed yet, so I'm leaving them blank.
