Notes on technique: Court Baroness scroll for Cynthia du Pré Argent

Size: 9x12, with 2" borders. The paper is Aquarelle Arches, 140 lb hot press, acid-free.

Calligraphy:

Hand: French Batarde (Drogin). 1.5 mm Brause nib (2.5 mm for the initial capital).
Line spacing: 6mm minim, 3mm ascender, 3mm gutter.
Ink: W&N Black Indian Ink.

There is no illumination, because Cynthia asked for a legal-document style scroll.

The West Kingdom does not normally do Court Baroncy scrolls unless they are armigerous (that is, unless the recipient did not already have an AoA) (Court Baroncy in the West carries an AoA, not a GoA). I did this one for Cynthia because she is my lady wife.
